Onsite courseThis half-day abrasive wheels course is designed to provide participants with the required knowledge and skills to safely select & change blades on devices such as angle & bench grinders (all machines covered please let the office know of any special requirements).
Under the Abrasive Wheels regulations 2016 all staff using these devices must be trained & certified to allow to operate, this allows you to be signed off on your safety statement as required by law.
This course is aimed at anyone who is using an abrasive wheels device such as angle & bench grinders.
On completion of this program, participants will be able to:
- Select the correct blade for these devices
- change a wheel
- how to store and transport these blades
- Legislation related to abrasive wheels
- Accidents & safety
- Types of abrasive wheels
- Manufacture of abrasive wheels
- Information on the devices
- Handling & Storage of the wheels
- Components of the wheels
- Dressing & trueing of the wheels
The course is highly interactive with each theory session being followed by demonstration, practical tasks and assessment of individual skills.
Continuous assessment throughout the course. At the end of the session, a multiple-choice exam will take place.
you will be issued with a PSTC certificate valid for 3 years
